Presidents Park's fenced dog park sits inside the wider Presidents Park Reserve on Greaves Street North, about 50 metres east of the playground and skate park, giving dogs a secured, roughly 100m by 50m grass run with double-gated entry and a direct link to the open off-leash area beyond it.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash inside the fenced area but must be leashed entering and exiting, kept under effective voice control, and recalled around other dogs or people arriving. The Werribee River bank alongside the park is not part of the off-leash zone, so dogs must stay on-leash there and are not permitted in the river itself. Registration tags must be visible on the collar or leash, and owners must carry a lead at all times even while off-leash.

What's there. Water taps and bowls, a couple of mature trees for patchy shade, seating in the middle of the fenced run, and waste bins at the entrance. The wider reserve adds a playground, skate park and toilets near the play area, so it doubles as a family stop.

Getting there. Address is 289 Greaves Street North, Wyndham Vale. Free on-site parking is available near the facilities, and local buses run along Greaves Street. Nearest train access is Werribee Station, a drive or bus ride away.

check the fence line before you let your dog off the lead, and keep half an eye out for snakes in the long grass along the river side in warmer months.

Weekday mornings and mid-afternoons are quietest. Saturday evenings draw the biggest crowd for weekend socialising, so aim for early or midweek if your dog prefers a calmer run.
