Cambridge Reserve Dog Off-Leash Area

Cambridge Reserve is a purpose-built fenced dog park in Hoppers Crossing that Wyndham City Council opened in mid 2025, pairing a large open lawn with a dedicated activity zone. It is one of the better equipped off leash options in Wyndham's west, and the council project page details the full fit out.

The rules

Off leash applies only inside the secure fenced enclosure; dogs stay on leash everywhere else in the reserve, including while walking through the double gate entry. Owners must remain inside, supervise, and keep dogs under effective control.

Bags and bins are provided, so pick up as you go, and discourage digging along the fence line. If a dog gets pushy or aggressive, the expectation is a leash and a prompt exit.

What's there

Inside the fence there is a big lawn for free running and an activity corner with agility equipment, plus a dog drinking fountain, bench seating and bag dispensers. Double gated entry means you can de leash and re leash without a bolter risk.

The one catch is shade: the perimeter planting is still young, so cover is thin in the middle of the day. Public toilets are available in the Cambridge Tennis Club pavilion near the car park during daylight hours.

Getting there

The reserve sits between Barber Drive and Westmill Drive in Hoppers Crossing, with car parking near the tennis club pavilion and a concrete path network linking the dog area to the surrounding streets. For residents of the Cambridge pocket it is an easy walk.

Close by with the dogs

If Cambridge is busy, the Camelot Park off leash area in Tarneit and the Williams Landing Reserve fenced dog park are both short drives. For a coffee stop on the way home, Jock + Mack is a local Hoppers Crossing option, and the Saltwater Reserve fenced dog park in Point Cook adds agility stations and shade about fifteen minutes away.

Max: the trees are young, so use the perimeter on a hot afternoon and bring your own water even though there is a fountain.

When to go

Weekday mornings and mid afternoon are the calmest windows. Evenings and weekends draw the local crowd, so if your dog is nervous around groups, aim for those quieter slots and let the lawn do the work when the agility corner is busy.
