Civic Centre Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Civic Centre Reserve's off-lead strip sits behind the Wyndham City Civic Centre on the Princes Highway, a long, narrow run of grass about 25 metres wide and 300 metres long, wedged between the council car park and the train line. It is a convenience park: open around the clock, minutes from Werribee Station, and handy for a leg-stretch run rather than a destination outing.

The rules

Wyndham City Council's standard off-lead conditions apply. Leash up entering and exiting, keep your dog under effective voice control, and recall or restrain it whenever other dogs or people are close. A current registration tag needs to be on the collar, dogs stay clear of wildlife and waterways, and you clean up after them.

Fencing

Not fully fenced. A mesh fence runs along the rail side, which is the reassuring boundary, but the rest of the strip is open onto the car park and access areas. If your dog is a bolter, this is a leash-on park for you: the Levittown Rise Dog Park is the fully fenced Werribee option.

Max: the strip is long and skinny, so two fast dogs fill it quickly, and trains pass close on one side. If yours startles at sudden noise, this is not the spot for a relaxed run.

Facilities

Two shaded picnic tables at the western end and mature trees that give decent cover on sunny days. Parking and entry are wheelchair accessible. No water is provided, so bring a bottle and a bowl.

Getting there

The reserve sits at the rear of 45 Princes Highway, with parking in the Civic Centre car park. Werribee Station is within walking distance, which makes this one of the few off-lead areas in the suburb you can reach without a car.

Close by with the dogs

The Diversion Weir off-lead area down by the river has far more room to run if you can drive out. For coffee or lunch afterwards, The South Corner is a dog-friendly Werribee option.

When to go

Busiest on weekend mornings and weekday late afternoons once work and school wrap up. Weekday mid-morning gives you the most space.
