Upper Coomera Off-Leash Area (Unfenced)

This is an unfenced off-leash dog area in Upper Coomera, managed under City of Gold Coast rules. As an open reserve it relies entirely on solid recall, and public detail on the exact boundaries is thin, so check the council's dog exercise area map and the on-site signage before letting your dog off the lead.

The dog setup

Gold Coast Council rules apply: dogs may be off-leash only in the signed designated area, under effective control by a person aged 17 or over, with a leash carried at all times. Dogs are never allowed in or near playgrounds, must not harass wildlife or other park users, and you need to carry bags and clean up immediately. Leash up near roads, car parks and playground edges, keep your dog's registration tag on, and leave the area if mowing is underway. If no signs designate the space off-leash, the default is on-leash.

Worth knowing

Amenities are not guaranteed at an unfenced reserve like this, so bring your own water and bowl and watch for traffic at the edges. It suits confident dogs with reliable recall; shakier recall calls for a long line or one of the area's fenced parks instead.
