Toucan Coffee Upper Coomera

Toucan Coffee is a family-run cafe on Coomera Grand Drive in Upper Coomera that roasts its own beans out the back, and the coffee is genuinely the reason people detour here. For dog owners there are two ways in: the undercover outdoor seating off the footpath, or the drive-thru if the dog would rather not get out of the car at all.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the undercover outdoor seating, which is accessed straight off the footpath, so there is no squeezing through the cafe. Staff are generally happy to bring a water bowl, though carrying your own is the safe bet on busy mornings. The indoor area is people only. Keep your dog clear of the drive-thru lane if you are seated out front, because cars roll through steadily.

Worth knowing

Reviewers rate the freshly roasted beans, the friendly owners and the generous serves, with bacon and egg muffins and eggs benedict doing the heavy lifting on the food side. Hours run early: from 5am on weekdays, 6am Saturday and 7am Sunday, closing early afternoon. That makes it a reliable pre-work or pre-walk coffee rather than a late brunch option.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Shop 4, 28 Coomera Grand Drive, with plenty of free parking in the shopping complex. The drive-thru is easy to reach straight off Coomera Grand Drive.

Close by with the dogs

Upper Coomera #2 Fenced Dog Park and Baker Creek Fenced Dog Park are both close by for an off-lead run, and Cafe Two Coomera is the sit-down alternative on the same side of the suburb.
