Coomera Sports Park Fenced Dog Park

The fenced dog park at the Ford Road end of Coomera Sports Park is the quiet workhorse of the northern Gold Coast: a fully fenced, double-gated run on a gentle rise with open grass and a scattering of trees. It is not the biggest or best-equipped park in the region, and that is exactly its appeal if the big regional parks feel like peak hour.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies only inside the fenced enclosure. Leash on until you are through both gates, and check the inner gate has latched behind you before unclipping. City of Gold Coast conditions apply throughout: dogs need to be registered and wearing a current council tag, you carry a lead at all times, and you stay inside the fence with your dog while it is off-leash under effective voice control. Dogs are kept out of the children's playgrounds and any sports fields in use, and you leave the enclosure while mowing or maintenance is running.

Worth knowing

Because the enclosure sits on a rise with limited tree cover, midday sun is the main drawback; mornings and late afternoons are the comfortable sessions, especially through summer. The wider sports park brings organised sport and families on weekends, so weekday slots are calmer inside the fence too.

Getting there and parking

Enter from the Ford Road side of Coomera Sports Park, with parking in the sports park car parks. The Coomera rail station and the M1 are both close by, which makes this an easy stop on the way up or down the coast.
