A picturesque on-leash local park in Studio Village, built around a lake walking path with water lilies, a cricket field and a small enclosed playground. This is an on-leash park, not an off-leash exercise area, so it suits a calm lakeside stroll rather than a run.

The rules. Dogs must be kept on-leash at all times, as required by the City of Gold Coast, and are not permitted inside the children's playground. Pick up after your dog and use the bins provided. The handler must be able to control the dog at all times.

What's there. A scenic walking trail around the lake, sheltered picnic tables with BBQ facilities, drinking fountains, and public toilets near the cricket field. A basketball court and small skate feature sit alongside.

Getting there. Off Village Way, next to the Studio Village Community Centre, whose car park is the easiest place to leave the car. Nearest bus stops are on Renfrew Drive near Salton Way, on Kinetic Gold Coast routes.

Nearby with the dogs. Boatshed Brew and the Coomera Watersports cafe by Oxenford Lake are a short drive away with dog-friendly outdoor seating. For an off-leash run, the fenced Damian Leeding Memorial Park is close by.

Weekday mid-mornings and early afternoons are the quietest window; early mornings and the 4 to 6pm stretch draw the local walkers. Good for on-leash training and an easy lake loop.
