It is set up properly for dogs: dedicated Pooch Friendly cabins plus pet-friendly caravan and camping sites, an on-site doggy day care, a fenced off-leash run and a wash station, so the dog travels with you rather than waiting in the car.

Dogs at the BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park

Dogs stay in specifically designated Pooch Friendly cabins (Studio Cabins, 2 Bedroom Terrace Cabins, 2 Bedroom Family Cabins, 2 Bedroom Cottages and Cosy Cabins) and on all caravan and camping sites, with a limit of two dogs per cabin or site. Not every pet cabin can be booked online, so declare the dog at booking or phone the park directly. Up-to-date vaccination certificates must be provided before arrival, and acceptance is at the park manager's discretion. Around the park the rules are firm: physical leash at all times outside the fenced off-leash area, no dogs in pools or water park zones, and the cafe indoors is people only, though dogs are welcome on the Nibbles Terrace. The park grounds are home to resident koalas and kangaroos, which is exactly why off-leash is restricted to the dedicated run, and dogs cannot be left unattended unless booked into the day care.

The park itself

The family kit is heavy on water: a water park, pool complex, jumping pillow, camp kitchen and fish tanks around the grounds. There is plenty of open space for on-leash walks within the park, and the doggy day care (roughly 9am to 5pm daily) plus the Puppy Pampering Palace wash bay cover the theme-park days when the dog needs minding.

Getting there and out with the dog

Siganto Drive sits off the M1 at Helensvale, an easy caravan drive from Brisbane or the southern Gold Coast, and parking is at your site or cabin.
