Over a kilometre of off-leash ocean frontage at the northern end of Seaworld Drive, widely rated the best dog beach on the Gold Coast. Open rolling surf runs along one end and calmer, sheltered sand sits near the seaway at the other, so you can pick the water to match your dog.
The rules. Off-leash 24/7 inside the signed area, which runs from the groyne south of the seaway down to the boundary at Main Beach. Dogs must be on-leash in the car parks and on the concrete walkway down to the sand. Stay inside the signed boundary, because rangers do fine, and clean up using the bags and bins provided.
The water and terrain. Open surf to the south, calmer water to the north near the seaway pipeline. Low tide gives the firmest, widest stretch of sand to run on.
Watch-outs. The current near the seaway and the main jetty can be strong. Keep a close eye on dogs in the water at that end.
What's there. A large free unsealed car park at the entrance, public toilets and outdoor showers, fresh water taps and bowls, picnic tables, and the Seaway Kiosk on site for coffee and food.
Getting there. Drive Seaworld Drive to the very end; the car park is on the right and fills fast on weekends, so come before 8am or later in the afternoon. The 704 bus runs to Seaworld but leaves a decent walk, so a car or ride-share is easier.

When to go. A weekday for room to move, since weekend mornings draw dozens of dogs, and low tide for the most sand. Good for confident swimmers, with the sheltered seaway end for everyone else.
