A smaller, fully fenced off-leash area on Whiting Street, Labrador, set inside a quiet neighbourhood park. The fully enclosed zone and agility gear make it a tidy spot for a quick run or some calm socialising, rather than the big-park melee.

The rules. Dogs go on-leash to enter and leave the fenced zone, then off-leash inside under voice control of someone aged 17 or over. Any dog showing aggression must be removed straight away. Dogs are not allowed in the children's playground, even on a leash. Clean up after your dog and bin the waste, and keep your dog registered and collar-tagged.

What's there. The off-leash area is fenced and has agility equipment plus bench seating for owners. The wider park adds a playground, fitness stations and shaded patches.

Getting there. Find it on Whiting Street, Labrador, just off the Marine Parade area. Street parking is usually available along Whiting Street, and local bus routes service the area.

It is quieter than the bigger Gold Coast parks, with the busiest stretches early morning and the weekday late-afternoon walk. A weekday mid-morning or mid-afternoon is the calmest. Good for smaller or more reserved dogs that find the larger parks overwhelming.
