Papercup Coffee Labrador

Papercup Coffee is a small local cafe at Shop 1, 16 Frank Street, Labrador, and it is properly set up for dogs: the undercover footpath seating out front welcomes them, staff greet them quickly, and puppuccinos and free dog treats are on the menu. It is a natural stop off a Broadwater walk.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, undercover footpath seating, leashed and settled beside the table. Water bowls are usually available, though a collapsible bowl is sensible backup on a busy morning. The strip is tight and community-feel, so dogs see plenty of passing traffic, and the coverage matters on drizzly Gold Coast mornings.

The vibe and the menu

The coffee has a strong local reputation, backed by acai bowls, the signature O.G. bowl, bacon and egg rolls, toasties, milkshakes and cabinet treats. There is a quirk worth knowing: the cafe retails fresh flowers, indoor plants and boutique gifts alongside the coffee, so you can leave with a monstera as well as a mocha. Hours run 5am to 2pm daily, which makes it an early-walk cafe rather than an afternoon one.

Getting there and parking

It sits on Frank Street near the United Petroleum, a short drive or walk from the Labrador foreshore. Street parking runs along Frank Street and the side streets, with some on-site parking nearby, and it tightens up in the peak morning window. Go early for the easiest park and a footpath table.

Close by with the dogs

The Broadwater Parklands and Labrador foreshore paths are minutes away, the The Spit Dog Beach gives dogs a proper swim, and the Musgrave Offleash Agility Dog Park covers the off-lead work. For a second stop, Daark Espresso is the big brunch player in the same suburb.
