Dogs are permitted in selected properties only, and some of those cap the number of dogs, often to one or two. Approval and any pet fee are handled per booking, so message or ring the manager before you pay and confirm three things in writing: that the property takes dogs, how many, and what the fee is. A number of the estates around Hope Island carry body corporate rules that restrict visiting animals, which is exactly why the per-property check matters here. Do not assume a listing takes dogs unless its own page says so.

Worth knowing

The upside of a house rather than a hotel room is real for dog owners: self-contained layouts, yards in some listings and canal-side walks around Hope Island's streets. The Saltwater Fenced Dog Park is the suburb's dedicated off-lead run, and B.Social Cafe Santa Barbara is a dog-welcoming coffee stop. If nothing in the portfolio suits, the BIG4 Gold Coast Holiday Park at nearby Helensvale has dedicated pet-friendly cabins and a fenced off-leash park.
