B.Social Cafe Santa Barbara is a brunch cafe at Shop 1, 7-9 Pinnaroo Street in the Santa Barbara pocket of Hope Island, on the Gold Coast's northern canals, a few minutes off Hope Island Road. It keeps morning hours, 6:30am to 12:30pm Monday to Thursday and 6:30am to 1pm Friday to Sunday, so it lives entirely in the breakfast-and-lunch window, which suits a post-walk coffee stop just fine.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor, undercover and footpath seating, and this is a cafe run by self-described pet enthusiasts rather than a merely tolerant footpath operation. Treats are kept on hand for visiting dogs, the team regularly features local four-legged regulars on their socials, and the vibe is genuinely pet-inclusive. Bring your own water bowl on a warm Gold Coast morning, as the bowls out front are not always stocked.

Worth knowing

The menu's reputation rests on toasties, with the pulled pork, truffle mushroom and ham and cheese versions the ones reviewers chase, alongside sourdough crumpets, eggs benedict and a solid coffee program, plus vegetarian and vegan options. The cafe looks over water in the canal-side streets, so you get a view with the toastie. Being a strict morning venue, arrive before noon or you will be looking at the front window.

Getting there and parking

Turn off Hope Island Road into Pinnaroo Street, with street parking along the shopfront and the surrounding residential streets of the Santa Barbara pocket. It is a quiet, walkable set of streets, which is half the appeal with a dog.

Close by with the dogs

For a proper off-leash run before brekkie, the Saltwater Fenced Dog Park on Helensvale Road is the northern Gold Coast's stand-out: fully fenced with a separate small-dog section, agility equipment, picnic tables and a saltwater lagoon dogs can actually swim in, open around the clock. The quiet Santa Barbara streets themselves make an easy on-leash loop, and the nearby Coomera River stretch adds a water-side leg to the walk. If you are extending the morning, Bistro 19 at Sanctuary Cove welcomes dogs on its covered deck and keeps peanut butter and bacon ice cream for them, and Native Harvest Cafe takes dogs at its open-air tables too.
