Native Harvest Cafe

Native Harvest Cafe sits on the marina at 48A Quay Street in the Sanctuary Cove precinct of Hope Island, open 6am to 2pm every day with the kitchen running 6:30am to 1:30pm. It is a waterfront cafe and bar built around Australian native ingredients, and the alfresco deck over the water is where dogs are welcome.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the outdoor alfresco seating, with marina views from the tables and room to settle a leashed dog beside your chair. Indoor dining is people only. The team is used to canine visitors, though bring a travel water bowl to be certain, and aim for an early table: the deck is calmest before the mid-morning brunch wave, and 6am doors make a sunrise coffee genuinely workable.

Worth knowing

The menu is the point here, classic cafe dishes reworked with native flavours. Standouts include smoked bacon eggs benedict with a macadamia hollandaise-style sauce, and a wild beef burger seasoned with Tasmanian pepperberry and native thyme under bush tomato relish. There are native harvest granola bowls, native vanilla crepes, botanical teas and native-infused cocktails from 10am, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options threaded through the list.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is inside the marina village at Sanctuary Cove, with ample free parking in the main marina car park a short walk from the door. Once parked, the boardwalk around the marina is an easy on-lead stretch before or after your meal.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-lead run, the fully fenced Saltwater Fenced Dog Park on Helensvale Road has separate small-dog sections, agility gear and a saltwater pond dogs swim in.
