Baker Creek Fenced Dog Park

Baker Creek Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, off-leash enclosure inside the wider Baker Creek Parklands at 552 Tamborine Oxenford Road, Upper Coomera. It is open around the clock, the local crowd has a friendly reputation, and the double-gated entry makes it a low-stress choice for a secure run and some social time.

The dog setup

The leash comes off only inside the fence. Everywhere else in the parklands is on-leash territory, so clip back on before you set off along the walking paths that thread through the reserve. Dogs are kept out of the children's playground areas, handlers need to stay in control and carry a lead at all times, and bag dispensers and bins cover the cleanup. Standard City of Gold Coast animal management rules apply. Water points are provided, though taps can sit outside the main enclosure, so a collapsible bowl is worth packing on warm days. A bench seat and the surrounding trees give owners somewhere to settle while the dogs do laps.

Max: latch the first gate before you open the second. The double-gate entry only does its job if you work it properly, and it is the one step people rush.

Worth knowing

This is a popular after-work spot. The late afternoon stretch between roughly 4pm and 5:30pm is the busiest, while weekday mornings are the quietest and best suited to timid or older dogs. Midday in summer gets hot with limited shade over the run, so aim for early or late in the warmer months. There is no large dedicated car park, so leave a couple of minutes spare at peak times.

Getting there and parking

The park sits at 552 Tamborine Oxenford Road on the corner of Stone Creek Drive, Upper Coomera, about 15 minutes north of Nerang. Most people arrive by car and park along the road frontage, which can be tight when the park is busy. Translink buses run along the nearby main routes if you would rather not drive.
