Green Gully Linear Park Dog Off Leash Area

Green Gully Linear Park is a long, narrow off-leash corridor running through Templestowe, with open grass, a creek and wetland system, and a shared path along its length. The appeal is the linear shape: even when the main entry is busy, walking further down the trail opens up space.

The rules. Dogs are off-leash in the designated areas under effective voice control, but must be on-leash within 15 metres of any playground or BBQ area and during organised sport. The shared pedestrian and cycle path runs the full length, so keep your dog mindful of bikes. Carry bags and use the bins provided. Confirm the off-leash boundaries on Manningham Council signage on arrival.

What's there. A shared walking and cycle path, waste bins at access points, scattered benches, and the central creek and wetland. There is no dedicated dog water tap, so bring your own.

Getting there. Access is off Porter Street via Matisse Drive, with limited street parking on the surrounding streets. Buses run along Porter Street, leaving a short walk to the entrance.

When to go. Mid-week mornings are quietest. Saturday mornings and weekday evenings from about 4:30pm are the busy windows, and the shared path also carries walkers and cyclists then. Good for dogs that like a long, steady walk.
