Burrell Road Fenced Dog Park

Burrell Road Fenced Dog Park sits inside Burrell Road Riverside Park in Spring Farm, on Sydney's south western edge under Camden Council. The dog park covers just under 4,000 square metres of fully fenced, gated ground beside a small lake, with separate enclosures for small and large dogs. It is one of the better-equipped parks in the Macarthur region and works for a quick run or a whole family morning.

The dog setup

Two size-separated zones mean small dogs get their own space away from the big, fast crowd, and both enclosures carry basic agility and play equipment. A double-gate entry keeps escapes down: dogs arrive on the leash and unclip inside. Water is on tap, waste bags are provided at the park, and shaded seating and benches give owners somewhere to settle. The house rule is the standard one: keep your dog in sight and under effective voice control, close the gates behind you, and leash up and leave if your dog starts behaving aggressively.

Outside the fence, standard leashing applies through the rest of the riverside park. The wider precinct is half the appeal: a walking and cycling path follows the water, there is an outdoor gym, and a kids' playground sits within sight of the dog enclosures, so one parent can hold the bench while the other does the playground circuit.

The vibe

Reviews regularly mention the community feel, and it reads as a locals' park rather than a destination. Weekend mornings are the busiest window, with the small dog zone at its fullest then; weekday mornings stay calmer. Because the park is open 24 hours, early starts and evening runs work well through summer when the midday sun makes the enclosures hot despite the shade.

Pepsi: The separate small-dog zone is the whole reason we come. Little dogs get room to play without being trampled, bags are always stocked, and the lake walk afterwards finishes the morning properly.

Getting there and parking

The street address is 69 Burrell Road, Spring Farm. Free street parking runs along Burrell Road itself, and you can also approach on foot via the riverside footpath and recreation corridor. Public transport is thin this far out: buses run through the Narellan and Camden area, with Camden the closest major hub, so most visitors drive.
