Hadley Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Hadley Reserve is a small off-leash grass rectangle on Hadley Street in North Seaford, roughly 90 by 40 metres, listed among Frankston City Council's free-roam areas. It stays quiet through most of the week, which is exactly why it earns a place in the local rotation: a low-stress run for nervous or easily distracted dogs that do better away from a crowd.

The dog setup

Dogs may be off-leash in the designated area and must return immediately on call. Keep your dog on-leash within 10 metres of children's play areas, barbecues or active picnics, and do not let them rush or chase people or other animals. Declared dangerous or menacing dogs and greyhounds must stay leashed at all times. Carry a bag and clean up; there are no bag dispensers on site.

Facilities are deliberately basic: a concrete path, a few unshaded seats and a low table that doubles as a training prop. Bring your own water and bags, and a hat in summer because shade is scarce.

Worth knowing

This is a neighbourhood leg-stretch, not a destination park, and it is most useful to North Seaford locals. The upside of that is predictability: mid-morning or early afternoon on a weekday, you will often have the whole rectangle to yourselves, which is gold for recall training or a shy dog's first off-leash sessions.

Getting there and parking

Street parking is available on Hadley Street and the surrounding residential roads, and local buses along Nepean Highway put you within walking distance.

While you're out there
