Towerhill Drive Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Towerhill Drive Reserve, off Berkley Road in Ringwood, is an open grassy oval set in a quiet residential pocket. It is an unfenced off-leash space for active dogs, ball games and a quick stretch of the legs, and it stays generally calm, which makes it an easy low-drama choice in the Maroondah line-up.

The dog setup

Dogs are off-leash within the designated reserve under effective control, but Maroondah's on-lead conditions matter here because there is no fence: back on lead on the shared paths, within 15 metres of playgrounds or barbecue and picnic areas, and during organised sport or training. Greyhounds must stay on lead in public spaces at all times. Carry a lead, clean up, and bring your own water because there is no tap on site.

The oval has paved paths around it and a few benches. Lighting is limited, so this is a daylight park rather than an evening one.

Worth knowing

Traffic is light by local standards: peaks hit on Sunday mornings and evenings and Thursday and Friday nights, while Saturday afternoons tend to be the quietest slot. With no water and little shade infrastructure, summer visits are best kept short and early.

Getting there and parking

Turn off Maroondah Highway via Reilly Street onto Berkley Road, with street parking on the surrounding residential streets. Ringwood Station is the nearest rail stop, a short bus trip or a 20 to 30 minute walk away.
