Eastfield Fenced Dog Park

Eastfield Fenced Dog Park is Maroondah's flagship secure off-leash space, sitting at the front of Eastfield Park on Eastfield Road in Croydon. A large fully fenced yard with double-gated entry, agility gear and a separate small dog zone, it is the pick if you want a contained run instead of hoping your recall holds up.

The dog setup

The main enclosure is fully fenced with a double-gate airlock at the entrance, and the surface mix of grass, sand and rock keeps the mud problem down through winter. Rock mounds, a sandpit and agility equipment including hurdles, a tunnel, weave poles and a ramp give busy dogs plenty to do, and there is a drinking fountain, shaded seating, bins and bag dispensers on hand.

A separate fenced timeout area with its own sandpit suits puppies, smaller dogs or anyone needing a quieter session away from the main group. Maroondah City Council rules apply inside: dogs over six months and vaccinated, a maximum of two per handler, constant supervision, no toys inside the fence and only hidden training treats. Young children are best left out of the enclosure. Everywhere else in Eastfield Park, leads are on.

The vibe

This park has a committed regular crowd and the topics that come up most are the fencing, the agility setup and the small dog area. It draws serious numbers on sunny weekends and can turn high-energy at peak times, so if your dog is still learning group manners, aim for a weekday morning or a mid-week evening. If the main yard is too lively, the timeout zone is the fallback.

Getting there and parking

The entrance is off Eastfield Road at 119-139 Eastfield Road, Croydon, with parking along the perimeter and in bays on the road itself. Buses along Maroondah Highway and Croydon Road stop within walking distance. Eastfield Park connects to the Tarralla Creek Trail, so you can add a proper walk before or after the off-leash session.
