East Ringwood Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

East Ringwood Reserve is a two-oval sporting ground on the corner of Mt Dandenong Road and Dublin Road, doubling as Ringwood East's local off-leash area. It is a short walk from Ringwood East station, with parking off Dublin Road and enough open grass across both ovals for a proper run, sports use permitting.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash across the reserve when it is not in organised sporting use, but must go back on lead within 15 metres of the playground, BBQ and picnic areas, and on the pavilion side of the ground. Leash up on shared paths too, and keep dogs under effective voice control at all times. Cricket in summer and football in winter regularly take over the main oval, so check before you arrive if you are planning on off-leash time.

What's there. There is a newly built pavilion, bench seating around both ovals and near the playground, oval lighting for evening use, and drinking fountains with water bowls for dogs. Dog waste bags are supplied, though it pays to carry your own as a backup.

Getting there. The address is 13-17 Dublin Rd, Ringwood East VIC 3135. On-site parking sits near the pavilion off Dublin Road, and it is an easy walk from Ringwood East station on the Lilydale line if you are coming without a car.

Nearby with the dogs. Cafes along Railway Avenue near Ringwood East station have outdoor seating that generally works for dogs, and central Ringwood near Eastland has more options a short drive away.

Weekend mornings from 9 to 11am and weekday evenings after 5pm are the busiest stretches, mostly locals walking dogs after work. Mid-week mornings and early afternoons are quieter if your dog prefers space over company, but always confirm current rules signage on-site since council policies can change.
