A quiet neighbourhood reserve at 15 Amery Street with a large, flat, grassy oval, open off-leash 24 hours unless organised sport or a council event is on. It is a low-key spot for a dog with solid recall to sprint and fetch, rather than a destination park.

The rules. Off-leash anytime the ground is free, but dogs must be on lead within 5 metres of a path, and you need voice control at all times. The reserve is only partially fenced (cricket-ball fencing) with gaps toward the road, so it is best for reliable dogs. Clean up immediately; bins are provided but bags are not, so bring your own.

What's there. Minimal. A covered shelter with tables near the playground in the southeast corner, plus a small free car park on the east side and street parking along Amery Street. No dog water taps and no public toilets, so bring water and a bowl.

Getting there. Reached via Arthurton Road and Broadway, with the entrance on Amery Street. Buses run along nearby Broadway and Cheddar Road.

Busiest early morning and late afternoon on weekdays, and midday on weekends. Mid-morning or early afternoon midweek you may have the oval to yourself. Given the partial fencing, save the busy times for dogs that stay close.
