Edwardes Lake Park Dog Off-Lead Area

A large, open off-lead area inside Edwardes Lake Park, on the corner of Leamington Street and Seaver Grove. The draw is space: mature trees for shade, the lake nearby, and plenty of room to run. It is popular with locals and can be busy, so good recall matters here.

The rules. Dogs run off-lead only within the designated area; everywhere else in the park is on-lead. Keep your dog under effective voice control and within 25 metres of you, stay at least 20 metres clear of playgrounds and active sports fields, and lead up before you leave the zone. Carry bags and clean up, fines apply.

What's there. The off-lead area is designated but not fully fenced, so it suits dogs with reliable recall. Bench seating sits around the perimeter, bins are at the entry and exit points, and toilets are nearby in the wider park. Water taps and bowls are generally available, but bring your own bottle to be safe.

Getting there. Easiest access is via the Leamington Street or Seaver Grove car parks, which drop you close to the zone. The park is a short walk from Reservoir Station on the Mernda line, and buses run along Broadway nearby.

Watch-outs. The ground gets waterlogged and muddy after heavy rain, so expect mess in winter and spring.

Busiest on weekday mornings and afternoons around commute times, and weekends between 10am and 2pm. Mid-morning midweek is the calmer window. Good for social dogs who like room to sprint.
