Pimpama Dog park

Pimpama Dog Park is a fenced off-leash exercise area in one of the northern Gold Coast's fastest-growing suburbs, giving local dogs a secure run close to home. Pimpama now has a cluster of fenced dog parks within a few minutes of each other, so this works as the convenient neighbourhood option rather than a destination outing.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fenced with double-gated entry, so the routine is standard Gold Coast: leash on until you are both inside and the gates are shut, then off-leash under effective control. Council's animal management local law applies, which means carrying a leash, staying close enough to recall your dog, and keeping declared dangerous or menacing dogs out.

Expect shaded seating for owners and mixed-size company at peak times. Water can be limited, so bring your own bowl, especially through summer, and carry bags; bins sit near the enclosure. Dogs are prohibited from adjacent playground areas, which matters here because the surrounding parkland is busy with families.

Worth knowing

This is a local leg-stretch park, not an agility course or a lakeside wander. If your dog wants variety, Pimpama's sibling fenced parks are close enough to rotate through during the week, and each draws a slightly different regular crowd. Weekday mornings and early afternoons are quietest; late afternoons and weekends are the social peak.

Getting there and parking

Pimpama sits just off the M1 between Ormeau and Upper Coomera, and most visitors arrive by car with street or small car park parking near the enclosure. Close by with the dogs

Rotate a run with the Rufous Whistler Park fenced dog park or the Pimpama fenced dog park, and the Vennor Reserve fenced dog park is a short drive south at Ormeau. For coffee after, Zarraffas Coffee in Pimpama or At the Willow Tree Cafe at Ormeau both take dogs outside.
