Jacobs Well Tourist Park

Jacobs Well Tourist Park is a quiet bayside caravan park on Pimpama Jacobs Well Road at the northern edge of the Gold Coast, a short stroll from the water of southern Moreton Bay. It is one of the few parks that builds for dogs rather than tolerating them: powered pet sites, a designated two-bedroom dog-friendly cabin, and its own fenced off-leash run inside the park.

Dogs at the park

Dogs stay on designated powered and unpowered sites at up to two per site, and in the park's pet-friendly two-bedroom cabins at one dog per cabin; standard cabins, the camp kitchen, BBQ areas and amenities blocks are dog-free zones. Tent camping with a dog is not accepted, so it is a van, camper or cabin stay. Approval is required before you arrive, with proof of current vaccination to be provided, and dogs on the Queensland restricted dog list are not permitted. Outside the fenced off-leash run, dogs stay on a leash. Confirm the current pet fee and availability for your dates directly with the park.

Max: the fenced run inside the park plus the bayside foreshore a short walk away burns energy two ways in a morning. Bring a towel.

Worth knowing

The village foreshore is an on-lead walk rather than an off-leash dog beach, so the fenced run inside the park is where the real off-lead time happens. Pet-friendly cabins are limited and single-dog only, so book early if you are travelling without a van. Topics like the coffee van and boat ramp make it a fisher-and-camper park first, but the dog setup is the reason dog owners keep coming back.
