Zarraffa's Coffee Pimpama

Zarraffa's Coffee Pimpama is the Gold Coast roaster's drive-thru outpost at the Pimpama City Shopping Centre on Pimpama-Jacobs Well Road, open from 5am to 7pm every day. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating, and the drive-thru lane makes it the practical coffee stop for northern Gold Coast dog owners doing the morning run past the dog parks.

The dog setup

Dogs settle in at the outdoor patio tables, on lead; the indoor counter area is off limits as with most chain venues, but staff are known for being easygoing and will bring orders out to the patio if you are on your own with a dog. There is no dog menu, so bring water in the afternoon heat. Hours run 5am to 7pm seven days, which gives dog walkers an unusually long window either side of work.

The vibe and the menu

Expect the Zarraffa's format: house-roasted blends, espresso staples, the blended Infusion drinks and a cabinet of toasties, bacon and egg rolls, banana bread and slices. Reviews rate the baristas and drive-thru efficiency highly, and the 4.2 average across hundreds of reviews reflects a reliable chain rather than a destination cafe. It is a quick-stop venue, which suits a dog on lead.

Getting there and parking

The shop sits at the eastern end of the Pimpama City centre, with ample shopping-centre parking and the drive-thru off the main road. For the dog leg, the fenced run at Rufous Whistler Park and Baldwin Dog Park are both minutes away, and Chef N Fusion is the local cafe alternative.
