Progress Park

Progress Park runs along Mullet Creek in North Narrabeen and it is one of the easier off-leash calls on the Northern Beaches: dogs can be off-leash here 24 hours a day, confirmed by Northern Beaches Council. The creek gives dogs somewhere to cool off and the park itself is open, grassy, and unfenced.

The rules. Off-leash is permitted around the clock, but the area is unfenced so dogs need to be under effective voice control near the shared paths and the children's playground, which sits outside the off-leash zone. Keep an eye on other path users, this is a well-used local walking route, not just a dog park.

What's there. Waste bins and bag dispensers are provided, and Mullet Creek gives dogs a place to swim and drink. Seating is scattered through the open grass area, but there is no fencing, so it suits dogs with reliable recall.

Getting there. The park is on Ocean Street, North Narrabeen, bordering Mullet Creek. Street parking is available but fills on weekends, and Pittwater Road bus routes stop a short walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. Fuel Espresso and Girdlers Cafe in North Narrabeen both take dogs outdoors if you want to make a morning of it.

Go early on weekend mornings before the park fills up, and check the creek after heavy rain, it turns to mud fast. Good for dogs that love a swim and don't need a fence to stay close.
