Lakehouse Cafe Narrabeen

Lakehouse sits at 1322 Pittwater Road, right on the edge of Narrabeen Lagoon on Sydney's Northern Beaches. The lakeside outdoor seating is the reason to bring the dog: you order at the counter and settle in beside the water while runners, prams and leashed dogs file past on the lagoon path.

The kitchen opens 6am to 2pm every day and turns out generous plates: the Lakehouse roll, breakfast wraps, avocado toast and acai bowls, with vegan and vegetarian options alongside. Locals rate the coffee among the better brews on the Northern Beaches. One rule to note before you plan the walk: the Narrabeen Lagoon Trail is on-leash only along its entire length under Northern Beaches Council rules, so the scenic loop is a lead walk, not an off-lead run.

Getting there and parking

Free parking is available nearby, including the public carpark by the lagoon, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible. Spots fill early on fine weekend mornings, so arriving before 8am makes the difference.

Close by with the dogs

The Narrabeen Lagoon Loop starts effectively at the door for a full scenic circuit, and Progress Park in North Narrabeen offers designated off-leash space when the lead rule gets restrictive. FOUR Knots Cafe is the other local dog-friendly stop further down Pittwater Road.
