Harris Avenue Sports Complex Fenced Dog Park sits within the City of Moreton Bay's Harris Avenue Sports Complex in Narangba, a fully fenced off-leash park split into separate sections for large and small dogs, open around the clock. Being inside a sports precinct means parking, toilets and the playground-and-skate-park crowd are all close at hand.

The dog setup

The two enclosures are the main draw: a spacious general zone for big runners and a dedicated small-dog section for petite or timid dogs that would get flattened in the main yard. Entry runs through a double-gated airlock, so close the outer gate before opening the inner one. Inside there is a small agility and obstacle course, shade trees with some covered seating for owners, a water tap with a bowl, and bag dispensers with bins for cleanup.

Worth knowing

Council's standard rules apply: keep your dog under effective control and supervised the whole time, and leash up and leave immediately if your dog turns dominant or aggressive. Large dogs belong in the large section rather than crowding the small-dog zone, and the double gates only work if you latch both properly. Weekday mid-mornings are the calm window; weekends and the after-work stretch get busy. The ground can hold mud after heavy rain, so check before you let a white dog loose.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Harris Avenue within the sports complex, with free parking right beside the fenced area. Narangba train station is a walk or short drive away rather than at the gate, so most visits are by car. The wider complex gives the rest of the family a playground and skate park while the dog works the agility gear.

Close by with the dogs

Stellarossa Narangba is the local coffee stop with outdoor seating, and you can rotate fenced runs with Burpengary Dog Park up the highway or Gardenia Dog Park at North Lakes. On a hot day, Deception Bay Dog Beach is an easy drive for a swim finish.
