Gardenia Dog Park

Gardenia Dog Park sits inside the Woodside Sports Ground on Gardenia Parade, North Lakes, as a fully fenced off-lead area split into a central mini oval and a fenced outer ring with an agility course. The double fencing is the reason to pick it over an open reserve: a secure gate buffer for dogs who bolt, and room to unclip a recall-in-progress dog without losing them towards the car park.

Dogs run off lead inside the fenced zones under effective control, in sight and responding to voice. Step in the moment play tips into trouble, and keep big, bouncy dogs out of the space smaller or timid dogs are using. Clean up after your dog with the bags and bins provided. The vibe

The community here skews regulars, with well socialised dogs making up most of the weekday crowd. Water bowls and stations are on site, bag dispensers are stocked, and there is undercover bench seating in the central area. The known weak point is shade: natural cover inside the enclosure is sparse, so the grass and benches run hot through the middle of the day. The park is open around the clock.

Getting there and parking

Use the on-site parking at the sports ground off Gardenia Parade, an easy reach from the Bruce Highway or Diamond Jubilee Way. There is accessible parking and a step-free entrance. Bus routes service the surrounding streets, but check Translink for current times.

When to go

Mid-week around the middle of the day is quietest; afternoons and weekends fill up. With little shade, go early or late in summer and carry your own water even though bowls are provided. Good for social dogs that want a fenced run rather than a big open paddock.
