Gardenia Dog Park

Gardenia Dog Park sits inside the Woodside Sports Ground on Gardenia Parade, North Lakes, and is a fully fenced off-leash area split into two runs plus a small agility setup. The double fencing is the reason to choose it over an open reserve: a secure gate buffer for dogs who bolt, and room to let a recall-in-progress dog off the lead without losing them to the car park.

The rules. Dogs run off-leash inside the fence but must be under effective control, and you are expected to step in the moment play tips into trouble. Clean up after your dog and use the bins provided. Keep big, bouncy dogs out of the smaller dogs' space to avoid mismatched play.

What's there. Two fenced sections, a small agility area with ramps and obstacles, water bowls, bag dispensers, and bench seating for owners. Shade is the known weak point here, so the grass and benches get hot and exposed in the middle of the day.

Getting there. On-site parking at the sports ground off Gardenia Parade, reached easily from the Bruce Highway or Diamond Jubilee Way. There is accessible parking and a step-free entrance. Bus routes service the surrounding streets, but check Translink for current times.

Nearby with the dogs. The North Lakes cafe strip is a few minutes away, with several dog-friendly outdoor decks for a post-run coffee. Lake Eden's walking circuit is also close for a longer leashed loop.

Quietest mid-week around the middle of the day; afternoons and weekends fill up. With little shade, go early or late in summer and bring your own water even though bowls are on site. Good for social dogs who want a fenced run rather than a big open paddock.
