Mango Hill Train Station Dog Park

The Mango Hill Train Station Dog Park sits right beside Mango Hill station on Kinsellas Road East, in the City of Moreton Bay north of Brisbane. Its transport links are the standout: this is one of the few dog parks in the region you can reach entirely by train, on the Redcliffe Peninsula line. Fenced off-leash yards with separate size zones and open grass near a small lake make it a reliable regular stop rather than a novelty.

The dog setup

There are dedicated small-dog and large-dog enclosures behind secure perimeter fencing, with bench seating, accessible pathways and mature trees for shade. Dogs are off-leash inside the fenced areas only; on the station paths and around the entrance they must be on a leash. Keep your dog in sight and under voice control, pick up waste and use the bins, and remove any dog showing aggression straight away. Personal toys are fine, but watch for resource guarding in a shared space and put the fetch toy away if trouble brews. Water is generally available, though carry your own on hot days.

Worth knowing

Early mornings and early afternoons are the calmest windows; weekday late afternoons and evenings fill up as commuters and locals arrive with their dogs, so a train-side park gets a genuine rush hour. Trains pass close by, so sound-sensitive dogs may take a session or two to settle. The lake next to the grass adds a scenic backdrop but keep dogs out of it unless you are sure of the water quality.

Max: mind the gate timing at peak hour. With a constant stream of commuter arrivals, the double-gate routine matters more here than at most suburban parks.

The park is next to Mango Hill Station on Kinsellas Road East, a short ride from Petrie or North Lakes. Driving in, use Kinsellas Road East and park near the station, where parking serves both rail users and park visitors.

Close by with the dogs
