Burpengary Dog Park

Burpengary Dog Park on Crendon Street is a fully fenced, council-run off-leash park in the City of Moreton Bay, sitting inside the wider Crendon Street Park with open lawn, fitness equipment and playing space around it. The split into separate big-dog and small-dog zones is the headline feature, so an older or nervous dog is not dealing with boisterous large breeds.

The dog setup

Secure double-gated fencing encloses the run, with a dedicated water fountain, picnic tables, benches and established shade trees. Bins are on site, but bags are yours to carry. Registration and vaccinations should be current before you go in.

The rules

Under City of Moreton Bay rules, dogs stay under effective voice control even inside the fence, and aggressive or overly dominant dogs get leashed and removed rather than given time to settle. Close both gates behind you, and reclip the lead as soon as you leave the perimeter, because the surrounding parkland is standard on-lead territory.

Max: if the park is busy, keep your dog leashed for the first few minutes inside the gate and read how the other dogs are playing before letting go. Cheap insurance.

Getting there

Crendon Street is easy to reach via the Bruce Highway or Old Gympie Road, with street parking along the park frontage, and the community club car park a short walk away if the street fills. Burpengary train station and local bus routes sit within a short walk if you are coming without a car.

Make a day of it

Penny's Cafe at the Burpengary Community Club is the established post-run stop, dog friendly with an alfresco area, water bowls and treats going. For more runs, the Burpengary East dog park and the Grogan Road Park Fenced Dog Park in Morayfield are both close, and the Deception Bay Dog Beach is a short drive east when the surf option appeals.
