Dayboro Showgrounds Camping

Dayboro Showgrounds Camping is a community-run showground at 3512 Mount Mee Road offering affordable, basic camping within an easy walk of the Dayboro town centre, with countryside views out to the D'Aguilar Range. It takes tents, caravans, motorhomes and big rigs, and it welcomes dogs, which makes it a practical low-cost base on Brisbane's northwestern fringe for a trip with the dog along.

Dogs at the showgrounds

Dogs are allowed in the camping area and must stay under control and on lead, with owners cleaning up after them. Bookings are required and access is arranged through the caretakers, so ring 0407 869 123 between 9am and 5pm to confirm your dog is fine and check any conditions. Site fees run $30 a night for up to two adults with $5 for each extra camper, and no separate pet fee is published. One hard date to know: the annual show closes the grounds to camping, typically in the June to July window, so check the show society's dates before you plan a trip, since the show's own rules prohibit dogs during the event.

The setup

Powered and unpowered sites with a quiet, rustic feel rather than a resort: two amenity blocks with hot showers and toilets, a camp kitchen, and a coin laundry with washing machines and dryers. Potable water is on site, though bringing your own supply for the dog is still sensible.

Getting there and parking

The grounds sit on Mount Mee Road at the edge of town, an easy run in from the Samford valley side, with the town centre a short walk away and parking at your site.

Close by with the dogs

Walk into Williams Street where Silverwood Cafe, Dayboro Bakery and Dayboro Sugar Mill all take dogs in outdoor areas. For off-leash time, Mervyn Kenman Park Fenced Dog Park is minutes away, fully fenced with separate large and small dog enclosures and an agility course.
