Mervyn Kenman Park Fenced Dog Park

Mervyn Kenman Park at Brecklyn Close is Dayboro's fenced off-leash dog park, and it is the reason to bring a dog to town if you want a proper run rather than a lead walk. It is a fully fenced, grassy area run by the City of Moreton Bay, split into separate enclosures so smaller or nervous dogs can steer clear of the bigger, faster ones.

The rules. Off-leash is allowed only inside the fenced enclosures. Everywhere else in the wider park, including paths and picnic areas, dogs must be on lead. You are responsible for your dog at all times, so keep them in sight, pick up after them and do not leave them unattended. Confirm current signage on arrival, as council rules can change.

What is there. Two fenced enclosures, generally divided into a large-dog and a small-dog side, plus a modest agility setup for a bit of stimulation. There is a covered shelter with seating, dog water taps and a bag dispenser, though it is worth carrying your own bags in case the dispenser is empty.

Getting there. The entrance is off Brecklyn Close, just off Mount Samson Road. There is accessible parking near the fenced entry. Public transport is limited to regional bus links toward Petrie, so a car is by far the easiest way in.

Nearby with the dogs. Town is two to three minutes away, where Silverwood Cafe and Dayboro Bakery both take dogs in their outdoor seating, so you can pair a run with a coffee.

Sunday mornings are the social peak; weekday mornings and evenings are quiet with plenty of room. Good for dogs who need a safe, fully fenced space to burn energy.
