Nearby with the dogs. The park directly across the road is handy for a quick leg-stretch after eating, and the main street is walkable on lead. Mervyn Kenman Park fenced dog park is a couple of minutes away by car if your dog needs a proper off-leash run.

Come early on a weekend if you want the pick of the pies and a quiet table on the veranda. Good for an easy, low-fuss stop on a country drive with a dog who is happy to lie down while you eat.
