The Dayboro Drop

The Dayboro Drop is a casual, locally focused restaurant and bar at 1/1 Heathwood Street, just behind the main street shops in Dayboro, built around regional produce and a serious drinks list. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor dining on a lead beside the table.

The dog setup

Pet access applies to the outdoor seating, and it is conditional on the night, so a quick call ahead on (07) 3425 1373 saves being turned away on a busy service. Bring your own water bowl so your dog stays comfortable through a long sitting, and keep the lead short, since the outdoor tables sit near normal foot traffic. Staff have a reputation for being welcoming, which helps if your dog is still learning restaurant manners.

The vibe

The menu leans on local produce and shifts seasonally: chicken wings, pork belly, arancini balls, an award-winning chicken parmigiana, plus gluten-free and vegan options. Behind the bar are handcrafted cocktails, local beer and wine. It trades two sittings, lunch from 11:30am and dinner to 9pm, and closes Tuesdays, so check the day before you drive out from Brisbane.

Getting there and parking

Dayboro is about 45 minutes north-west of the Brisbane CBD in the Moreton Bay hinterland. The venue has its own car park with accessible parking and an accessible entrance, and free street parking along Heathwood and Williams streets as backup.

Close by with the dogs

The main street is a short on-lead stroll before or after a meal, and the fenced dog park at Mervyn Kenman Park is a couple of minutes away for an off-leash run.
