Fenrir Cashmere Dog Park

Fenrir Cashmere Dog Park is the fenced off-leash enclosure inside One Mile Park on Hayward Avenue, Cashmere, at the northern edge of the Moreton Bay growth corridor. It is a neighbourhood-scale park with separate sections for small and large dogs, which is unusual for a park this size.

The dog setup

The whole off-leash area is fully fenced with double-gated entries, so you can unclip the lead once you are through and not before. Separate small-dog and large-dog enclosures mean a nervous toy breed and a boisterous adolescent kelpie do not have to share a gate.

Inside you get open grass on a gentle incline, shade trees, benches for the humans and a water tap for the dogs. Moreton Bay's off-leash rules still apply: stay inside with your dog, keep it under effective control, and carry bags for clean-up.

Pepsi: use the small-dog side even if your dog is medium sized but soft. The large-dog section draws the regulars with big, fast players, and a quiet dog can spend the whole visit pinned behind you without it.

Worth knowing

The enclosure sits inside One Mile Park, so the playground next door makes it an easy combined stop if you have kids in the mix. Keep your dog on lead on the paths between the car and the fence line, since only the fenced sections are off-lead.

Mornings and late afternoons draw the regular crew, and the middle of a summer day can be hard work even with the shade trees, so time big sessions around the cooler hours.

Getting there and parking

The park is at 72 Hayward Avenue, Cashmere, with on-site parking at the reserve. It is a short drive from the Cashmere Village shopping centre and the Warner shops, and a reasonable run up the highway from Strathpine.

Close by with the dogs

The Blended Collective Cafe at Cashmere Village welcomes dogs in its outdoor courtyard with water bowls put out, an easy coffee either side of a session. Cashmere Dog Park over the boundary in Warner is the alternate fenced run, and Warner Lake Dog Park adds a third option a few minutes away.
