Cashmere Dog Park

Cashmere Dog Park sits on Cashmere Road at the Warner end of its name, a fully fenced off-leash block with open grass, scattered shade trees and enough of a slope to make ball chasing a proper workout. It is a working local park rather than a showpiece, and that is exactly why regulars keep coming back.

The dog setup

The whole exercise area is fenced, with two gates at the entry so you can move through one at a time without a dog slipping out. Inside there is a decent stretch of open lawn, a dirt track that runners lap happily, benches for the humans and shade from the trees on the warmer mornings. A dog water bubbler works, and bag dispensers hang near the entrance, though the usual advice applies: carry a spare roll because the dispenser does not always keep up with demand.

Keep the lead on until you are inside the fence. City of Moreton Bay rules expect dogs off-leash only within the enclosure, under effective voice and sight control, with owners supervising and cleaning up. Registration with the council is expected too.

Worth knowing

Timing changes this park a lot. Early weekday mornings are the quiet windows with the most open space, while Saturday mornings, evenings and Monday afternoons fill up with the regular crew. If your dog needs room to run without dog traffic, aim mid-morning midweek. A long concrete path runs alongside the fence, handy for a lead warm-up before the off-leash session.

Pepsi: The hills and the dirt track make this one a good pick for a dog that just wants to run flat out. Bring a ball and let them stretch the legs.

Getting there and parking

The park fronts Cashmere Road with street parking generally available near the entrance. Most people drive, since the nearest bus stops are on Warner Road and South Pine Road, roughly a 10 to 15 minute walk away.

There is no shortage of company nearby.
