Warner Lake Dog Park

The short version. Warner Lake Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash park in the Warner Lakes precinct, with separate pens for big and small dogs and a scenic lake alongside. The split areas and secure fencing make it a reliable pick if your dog needs space away from bigger, rowdier company.

The rules. Dogs run off-leash inside the fence but must stay under effective voice control, and they should be leashed on the paths and general parkland outside the enclosure. Use the double gates one at a time so nothing slips out. Standard sense applies: pick up after your dog, do not bring a female in season or an unvaccinated pup into the shared pen, and do not leave your dog unattended. Dogs should be registered with the City of Moreton Bay.

What is there. Both pens are grassed with a dog water station, bench seating, some shade and bins with bag dispensers. There is a bit of agility equipment for dogs with energy to burn. Shade is patchy in parts, so factor that in on hot afternoons.

Getting there. The park sits within the Warner Lake precinct off the surrounding residential streets, with limited parking near the entrance that can fill at peak times. It is a driving destination for most, with Petrie and Bray Park the nearest train stations and a bus or short drive from either.

Watch-outs. The lake is fenced off from the pens, but the grass turns wet and muddy after rain, so expect a dirty dog if you visit soon after a downpour. Shade thins out in the middle of the day.

Nearby with the dogs. Stellarossa at Warner Marketplace does covered outdoor seating, water bowls and treats, a few minutes away for a post-run coffee. Cashmere Dog Park and Sarbi Park are also close if you want to compare.

When to go. Weekday mid-mornings, roughly 10am to 2pm, are the quietest. Early mornings and the 4pm to 6pm window are busiest, along with weekend mornings, so aim off-peak if your dog prefers room to move.
