Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park Dog Off Leash Area

Percy Treyvaud Memorial Park is a spacious Stonnington reserve off Quentin Road in Malvern East, close to Chadstone, combining sports ovals, a bowls club, tennis courts and a strip of light bushland. Off-leash access is conditional rather than unlimited, and the conditions matter here because the park is a busy multi-sport precinct.

The dog setup

Dogs can exercise off-lead on the open grass under effective voice and hand control, per City of Stonnington rules, but must stay off the ovals during games, training or practice. The playground, garden beds and club facilities are out of bounds, and you must carry a lead at all times.

Bins and bags are provided for clean-up. Check the on-site signage for the current off-lead conditions, because precinct rules have been updated alongside the park's redevelopment.

The vibe

This is a proper community sports hub rather than a quiet pocket park: the Stonnington Sports Centre, indoor courts, bowling greens and a fenced playground all share the site. The sheltered seating in the north-east corner and the bushland strip north of the bowls club are the calmer corners with a dog.

A water tap sits near the tennis courts but without a bowl, so bring your own.

Getting there and parking

On-site parking is off Quentin Road, easy to reach from the Monash Freeway via the Warrigal Road exit, with a large upgraded car park plus street parking on Quentin and Chadstone roads. Buses run along Warrigal Road and Holmesglen station is a moderate walk. Parking fills fast during weekend sport.

Close by with the dogs

Ardrie Park and Central Park are fellow Stonnington off-lead reserves nearby, and Mr Sister Cafe is a local dog-friendly coffee stop.

Weekday mornings and mid-afternoon are quietest; the park is busiest roughly 5 to 7pm on weekdays and on weekend mornings when sport squeezes the usable space.
