Rosslare Court Dog Off Leash Area

The Rosslare Court off-leash area sits within Rosslare Court Reserve in Hoppers Crossing, a district-level reserve that Wyndham City Council has upgraded with a fenced dog area, new footpaths, seating and a playspace. It works as both an exercise spot and a social yard, close to Skeleton Creek.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash inside the designated fenced dog area and go back on the lead for the rest of the reserve. Lead up when entering and exiting, keep your dog visible and able to be recalled even inside the fence, and carry a lead at all times as Wyndham's rules require. Dogs are kept out of the playspace and away from the wetland and waterway edges, current registration tags apply, and aggressive dogs are leashed and removed immediately.

The enclosure is designed to stop bolting, and around it there is open lawn, a water tap with a dog bowl, accessible public toilets and new seating through the reserve. A separate playground sits next to the dog zone, which makes it workable for families with both kids and dogs.

Max: the wetland edge is the one boundary that matters. The fence handles the road side; you handle the birds.

The vibe

Weekend mornings from 8am to 11am and weekday afternoons and evenings are the busy windows. Mid-morning on a weekday is usually the calmest time if your dog prefers a quieter run.

Getting there and parking

Street parking is available on Rosslare Court, and local bus routes along the surrounding Hoppers Crossing thoroughfares put the reserve within walking distance.

Close by with the dogs

The Cambridge Reserve Dog Off-Leash Area is the other main Hoppers Crossing option, and the Williams Landing Reserve Fenced Dog Park adds agility equipment a few suburbs over. For a full morning out, the Campbells Cove Beach Dog Off Leash Area at Werribee South gives dogs a proper run on sand.

Afterwards, Jock + Mack on Old Geelong Road is a dog-friendly coffee stop with water bowls out the front.
