Forsyth Park Fenced Dog Park

Forsyth Park Fenced Dog Park is a small, fully fenced off-leash enclosure at the corner of Silverbrush Way and Perennial Drive in Truganina, tucked behind the residential streets with a kids' playground next door. It is a community park in the truest sense: built for training sessions and everyday socialising rather than a big excursion, and mostly used by locals on foot.

The rules

Entry is through a double-gate airlock, so latch one gate before opening the next. Wyndham City Council's off-lead conditions apply inside the fence: voice control at all times and waste in the bins provided. Outside the enclosure the rules flip back to on-lead, including the playground, the walking tracks and the rest of the parkland.

The setup

Two zig-zag wooden seats double as informal agility props for dogs who like to climb, with two standard benches for the humans. A water fountain inside the fenced area covers drinking water for both ends of the leash. Next door sits a well-maintained playground with a flying fox and sand play plus a basketball area, which makes it easy to split the family outing. Lighting is limited, so this is a daylight park despite being technically open 24 hours.

Max: small yard, double gate, water on tap, and wooden ramps to clamber over. Good manners get learned here, one short session at a time.

Getting there

Street parking runs along Silverbrush Way, and the park is reached via Forsyth Road and the surrounding residential streets. Public transport options are limited nearby; this is a walk-up neighbourhood park rather than a destination.

The Vibrandia Way Fenced Dog Park is the other enclosed run in Truganina, and the Williams Landing Reserve Fenced Dog Park is a short drive east if you want a change of scene.

When to go

Sunday afternoons and evenings draw the most dogs. Weekday evenings, particularly Tuesdays, tend to be quiet, which suits a shy or newly adopted dog who needs room to settle before meeting the regulars.
