Baler Court Fenced Dog Park

Baler Court Fenced Dog Park is a purpose-built off-leash park in Hammond Park, run by the City of Cockburn and open 24 hours, with separate fenced areas for small dogs and for all dogs. It is a solid, no-frills option for a proper off-leash run rather than a scenic destination.

The dog setup

Both enclosures are irrigated turf with full perimeter fencing and double-gated entries, so arrival and departure are the risky moments rather than the run itself. Inside there is open grass, a few agility objects, water for dogs, waste bags and bins, and limited seating. Shade is patchy, so bring your own cover on a hot day. No public toilets on site.

Off-leash applies inside the fences; everywhere else in the City of Cockburn your dog stays on lead unless you are in another designated area. Keep your dog under voice or visual control, remove any dog showing aggression immediately, and pick the enclosure that matches the signage, small dogs or all dogs.

Max: check the gate is fully latched before the lead comes off. Double gates only work if nobody has a distracted moment.

Getting there

Baler Court runs off Frankland Avenue, close to Mandurah Road, with on-street parking directly along the park. There is no nearby station; Cockburn Central is the closest, so it is a bus-plus-walk or car trip for anyone coming from further afield. Early mornings and the 5pm to 6pm window are the busiest, especially weekends, so aim for a weekday mid-morning if your dog prefers calm.

Close by with the dogs

The Jan Hammond Park fenced dog park in neighbouring Success is the natural backup if Baler Court is crowded. For coffee, Threepence Cafe is the closest listing, with La Moon Cafe a short drive west in Kardinya.
