Lookover Reserve is a small off-leash reserve on Lookover Road in Donvale, about 0.9 hectares of grass running through a natural gully. It is a quiet local spot that doubles as a pedestrian link to Glenwood Close, not a destination park, and it is not fully fenced.

The rules. Dogs may be off-leash but must stay under effective voice control at all times. The boundary fences are residential, not built to contain dogs, so treat it as open. Keep your dog restrained within 15 metres of any playground, barbecue or sporting event. Bring your own waste bags, as the reserve has no bins.

What's there. Little more than open grass and the gully. There are no bins, no water taps and no real seating or lighting, so come self-sufficient with water and bags. After rain the gully gets boggy.

No fence and a through-path to Glenwood Close means dogs can drift off. Only unclip if recall is reliable, and watch the exits.

Getting there. The address is 17 Lookover Road, with limited informal on-street parking. Access is on foot from Lookover Road or Glenwood Close. It is a suburban pocket without direct bus service, so driving or walking is easiest.

When to go. It stays quiet, used mostly by locals early morning or early evening. Mid-morning or mid-afternoon on a weekday is the calmest. Good for a short, low-key leg-stretch rather than a long social run.
