Marshall Reserve on Marshall Avenue is a local Doncaster sports reserve where the off-leash run happens on the fenced sportsground. It is an open, undulating space that suits an active dog needing room, rather than a destination park.

The rules. Dogs are off-leash inside the fenced sportsground under effective voice or hand control, but not when organised matches or training are on. Keep dogs on-lead in the surrounding playground, car park and pathways, and at least 20 metres from the playground, BBQ and picnic areas. Bags are provided and clean-up is enforced; confirm current lead zones against Manningham Council signage.

What is there. A pavilion, BBQ area, shaded picnic tables and a children's playground. There is no dedicated dog water tap, so bring your own water and bowl, especially in summer.

Getting there. Marshall Avenue, Doncaster, reached via Manningham Road or Blackburn Road, with entries from three street sides. Street parking runs along Marshall Avenue and can be limited on a busy weekend. Nearby bus routes run on Doncaster Road and Blackburn Road.

When to go. Weekday mornings are quietest; weekends and weekday evenings are busiest, and parking tightens in good weather. Check the sports schedule before relying on the oval being free. Good for active dogs with reliable recall.
