Burgundy Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Burgundy Reserve on Burgundy Drive is a compact Doncaster reserve of roughly 1.6 hectares, built around an informal grassy oval with a gravel walking track looping the edge. It is a handy local off-leash spot for a quick daily run rather than a long outing.

The dog setup

Dogs are off-leash on the open oval under effective voice or hand control. They need to be leashed in the car park, near the playground, and during any organised sport or community event using the oval. Clean up and use the bins. The reserve itself is unfenced and bordered by streets, so recall matters. Confirm the current lead zones against Manningham Council signage on site before you unclip.

For amenities it punches above its size: a drinking fountain that often has a dog bowl set into it, litter bins, seating around the oval, a sheltered picnic table, and a fenced playground tucked into the north-east corner. The gravel perimeter path is the easy option for a steady on-lead walk if the oval is crowded. The oval drains reasonably well after rain, though the gravel path is the surer footing in winter.

Pepsi: The fountain bowl saves carrying water on short visits. Just check it is flowing, because taps in small reserves are not always on. It is a dog-first reserve most days, which is why locals keep coming back.

Weekday mid-mornings are the quietest window. Weekday late afternoons and weekend mornings draw the local regulars with their dogs. When an organised game takes the oval, the gravel path keeps the visit alive without you breaking the on-lead rules.

Access points come off Burgundy Drive, Polaris Drive and Bellevue Avenue, with street parking along Burgundy Drive. Bus routes along Doncaster Road put you within walking distance. Everything is compact, so from car to off-lead is under a minute.
