Carramar Off-Leash Dog Park sits inside Carramar Reserve at 27A Braxlaw Crescent (also listed as 69 Alma Road) in Dakabin, a fully fenced off-leash area within a larger shared park. It is the pick of the suburb for a proper run: fenced, shaded, and a short walk from Dakabin train station.

The dog setup

The off-leash zone is fully fenced, so dogs can go off lead once inside, and there are separate water stations and waste bag dispensers for the job. Outside that fence, in the rest of Carramar Reserve, dogs stay on a leash and under effective control, since the wider park is shared with a playground, sports fields and a BMX track. Bring your own bags as well; bin stations are provided but stock runs out.

Worth knowing

The reserve has solid shade cover from mature trees, which matters in a Queensland summer, plus sheltered seating and tables alongside the fenced dog area. For the rest of the family there is a treehouse-structure playground, a basketball half-court, a BMX track and outdoor gym equipment, so it handles a mixed outing well.

Max: check the fence line before letting your dog loose, gates get left open by other visitors more often than you'd expect at shared reserves like this.

On-street parking on the surrounding residential streets is the norm, as there is no dedicated car park. Dakabin train station is a short walk away, useful if you are pairing the visit with a wider City of Moreton Bay day out.
