Flow Cafe Dakabin

Flow Cafe Dakabin is a casual all-day cafe on Alma Road, a short walk from Carramar Reserve, with a partly shaded outdoor seating area where dogs are welcome. It is the natural coffee-and-brunch stop to pair with a run at the off-leash park down the road, and the kitchen is known for sending out plates that big that nobody leaves hungry.

The dog setup

Dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area, which is partly shaded and set up for a relaxed sit-down rather than a quick bench. Staff are generally friendly toward dogs, though there is no confirmed dedicated water-bowl service, so bring your own bowl to be safe. Doors open at 6am daily, running to 3:30pm weekdays and 3pm weekends, which makes an early off-lead session and a late breakfast an easy sequence.

Max: full off-lead sprint at Carramar, then eggs benedict while I supervise from the shade. Dakabin is a well-run operation.

Worth knowing

The menu is hearty: smashed avo, eggs benedict, burgers and wraps, with the barramundi burger and almond lattes getting regular mentions. Vanilla slice and lemon meringue hold the dessert cabinet. Reviewers consistently flag the portion sizes and friendly service, and the room skews local and family-oriented rather than trendy.

Getting there and parking

Find it at 1 Alma Road, Dakabin, near the Dakabin shopping centre. There is a free car park on site, and Dakabin Station is close by if you would rather arrive on foot. Carramar Reserve at 69 Alma Road sits just down the road, so the whole trip can be done without moving the car.

Close by with the dogs

The Carramar Off-Leash Dog Park is the natural pairing, with a fenced enclosure inside a family park. Further toward North Lakes, the Gardenia Dog Park and Aurora Boulevard Park Fenced Dog Park add two more options, and Coffee Lane is the alternate cafe stop.
