Yarrabee Park Fenced Dog Park on Benham Avenue in Kallangur is a fully fenced, suburban off-leash area with separate sections for large and small dogs, a handy set-up if you've got a nervous or smaller dog who doesn't want to share a run with bigger, boisterous ones.

The rules. Off-leash only applies inside the fenced sections, dogs need to be on a lead in the rest of Yarrabee Park. Clean up straight away, and supervise your dog throughout the visit. Keep things civil, aggressive behaviour towards other dogs or people isn't tolerated.

What's there. A water bubbler with a tap and bowl, secure fencing with double-gate entries, shaded tables and bench seating. The wider park adds a couple of playgrounds, outdoor gym gear and BBQs, plus a wheelchair-accessible entrance.

Getting there. On-street parking along Benham Avenue is generally available, and the park sits within easy reach of local Kallangur bus routes.

When to go. Weekend mornings and afternoons plus weekday afternoons are the busiest stretches. Weekday mid-mornings are quieter and a good pick if your dog needs space, and the small-dog section can fill up fast given its size, so get in early if that's the one you need.
