Ashtead Street Fenced Dog Park

Ashtead Street Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, grassy off-leash park at 47 Ashtead Street in a residential pocket of Clyde, with a concrete path bisecting the middle and drainage good enough that it stays drier than most parks in the area after rain.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash once inside the fence and go back on lead in the surrounding parkland outside the gates. Double gates sit at each end, though some lack spring closers, so double check the latch behind you. Under City of Casey rules you must carry a lead at all times, keep your dog within voice control, and never let it chase, rush or hassle other people, children or animals. A shelter with a bench gives owners some shade, a water tap and bowl sit by it, bins handle waste, and the park is wheelchair accessible.

Pepsi: the water tap by the shelter is handy for a drink after a play session, but bring your own bowl if you would rather not share.

The vibe

The park tends to be a little busy most days, with Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings the peak. Friday and Saturday afternoons are usually the quietest windows if you want the space mostly to yourselves. The crowd is neighbourhood locals from Clyde's newer estates rather than destination visitors, which keeps the mix of dogs predictable.

Getting there and parking

Street parking is generally available directly on Ashtead Street. Clyde is growing fast around this park, so expect more foot traffic as the surrounding estates fill in.

Cafe Delaray & Co on Deoro Parade in Clyde North welcomes dogs in its outdoor dining area, and Maple Park Fenced Dog Park and Pasadena Fenced Dog Park are the other fenced options in Clyde. If you want a longer outing, Akoonah Park Dog Off Leash Area in Berwick is a short drive west.
